You had me at "advanced placement". Was it wrong to love being around people who are smarter than me? I'm getting a flashback from the time I asked an editor to read a poem I wrote to Wagon Puller. She had the sensitivity to let me know it was mediocre by her voice just trailing downward. It only increased my desire. So I now get to be enlightened to things I really don't want to know about as well as things that stimulate curiousity. The power of vivid words does that for me. It's written (or spoken) in way that is so certain and unpacked so well that I get it and I sleep at night cognitively as satisfied as if I had a drink with Dorothy Parker.
Not sure why I chose to dramatize separation to my big sis but I'm going with making it funny ensures that she gets it. I had to go all the way to Cosmo's Chapel to wake to the reality that there's nothing wrong with me - this week I uncovered it again only I was bathing in my own tub and watching the stars from my own chaise.
